 Day 2

Wow! The responses to the first giveaway have been amazing! There are so many reasons to love the Tudors both the series and the dynasty.

The Tudor era brought about many changes in England and even throughout the world amazingly some of the changes that Henry VIII brought about are still in place. They were a fascinating family and for many they still are.

Whether you are a Tudor newbie or a serious Tudor addict one fact about the Tudors is well known-Henry VIII married 6 times. While some of you may not know their names you probably know that he divorced 2, beheaded 2, 1 died, and 1 outlived him.

I have named today’s giveaway the:
“Divorced, Beheaded, Died, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived”  Giveaway.  And this giveaway is centered around the 6 wives of Henry VIII.

The “Divorced, Beheaded, Died, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived” Pack includes the following:

1 Copy of The 6 Wives of Henry VIII by Alison Weir
1 book of the Six Wives of Henry VIII Paper dolls
1 Pack of Tudor Buttons

This set of eight beautiful and collectible 1" pin back buttons or magnets features collages of Tiffini's of King Henry VIII, Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, Catherine Parr and the Tudor Rose.

I would like to thank Claire Ridgway @ The Anne Boleyn Files for donating the buttons. Please stop by her site and say thank you. Also, make sure you stop by and checkout their brilliant shop, where you can find all things Tudor.

Anne of Cleves is my favorite. I remember reading a novel about her when I was a teenager, over 50 years ago, and I've admired her ever since. Thanks for the giveaway. I'm a follower through Google.

My favorite is Catherine Parr. Not because she out lived Henry but because she seemed wise. Very well versed in the new religion similar to Anne Boleyn. She published a book about this subject however she was smart to wait until he had passed on. Henry was quite leary of any wives being too well versed in religion and politics after Anne. She also must have been quite patient as he was her second husband that she nursed before their death. That must not have been an easy task.

I'm also a follower. Thanks!

I would have to go with Anne Boleyn because I think she has been maligned by history. Thank you!

I love these giveaways! I think all the wives are compelling for their own reasons, but I would have to say my favorite is Jane Seymour. Finally a woman gives Henry what she wants (an heir) and she can't even be around the enjoy the attention and favor he would have shown on her!

my favorite is his first wife, Catherine of Aragon - her devotion to the church, as well as to her husband, was unparalleled.

My favorite is Catherine of Aragon. She really stuck to her beliefs even when it would have been easier to give in.

I love Allison Weir! Her books really flesh out the stories into real page-turners.

Anne Boleyn is my favorite, of course! I remember watching Anne of the Thousand Days when I was a young girl and I think that's where it all started.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Of the wives, Anne of Cleves is my favorite. Though she was cavalierly treated by Henry, she continued to live in England after he gave her a pension and outlived the king.
