Welcome to Vampire Week!

I am a self-confessed fanpire. I love the danger and sensuality of vampire fiction and frequently turn to reading it when I need to be thoroughly entertained. Male vamps, female vamps, good or bad vamps - I love them all.

But with a fiction market saturated with paranormal fiction, this is one genre where my hard and fast rule of 'read reviews before I buy' comes into play. We all know about the really popular books like J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood and of course, Twilight and the Sookie Stackhouse novels. But when you've exhausted these options and you're in the mood for a bit of a love bite, what else should be on your TBR list?

Empress SignatureMoody Countess

Empress of Good & Evil -Teddyree and Moody Countess - (Diane) have some excellent suggestions for you to celebrate our very first Vampire Week! They have dedicated themselves to producing a fantastic week here at Royals and have rustled up some giveaways, author interviews and reviewed some of the best vampire books you may (or may not) have heard of.

Their reviews are scheduled on this blog ready to go and although it is killing me, I haven't peeked and read them...but I have seen the crown ratings...and I just know this little fanpire is going to find herself virtually wandering over to Book Depository more than once this week.

To get things started, Moody Countess wanted to share what she says is 'The greatest Vampire love story of all time - Buffy & Angel.' I didn't watch this show when it was on TV (I know *gasp*) but judging from this clip, I was REALLY missing out!

Enjoy...

I love the debut week post! And I have to admit that I have never watched Buffy :(

I shall do sometime. But I need to find the time!

Hi to all the Royalty!

I too am a fanpire. I would have walked across hot coals to watch Angel/Buffy/Spike. I hated to see the show end, but at least it had a nice long run unlike the recent offerings, which were great and I've yet to figure out why they were canceled. I can't wait to see what you have in store for all of the fans of undead.

Dottie :)

C. David B. was never hotter than during his time on Buffy.

What a great theme this week - I love vampires! I am also a Buffy virgin, although I did see the movie (it was on last week and my 8 year old loved it). Looking forward to your selections!

Looks like it's going to be fun!
I loved Buffy and Angel! I was little at the time, but my mum got used to seeing me watch that sort of things so she let me watch them anyway!

I myself am a fanpire, so I'm excited to see what you ladies have in store for us.

Hi Everyone!

I also can't wait and I'm a fan of Buffy and Angel. I also liked her with Spike.

Thanks to all the Royal Reviewers!

Juju - At the end of Buffy, it never really was fully "ended" for them. When Angel left for LA, he did it because he felt like he couldn't give Buffy the future she deserved. But in the long hall, they remained in love and it was left at two things: Buffy wasn't ready for a man, and Angel was willing to wait. Also, there's the whole prophecy that I'm sure they are waiting for. Sorry, don't want to give too much away for the virgins :)

I have made no secret on my blog that Buffy is my very most favorite TV show of all time. And Angel is the vampire I compare all other vampires to.

I very much look forward to this week!

dorolerium ~ now I definitely feel like I'm missing out.
Annie I agree, one Buffy marathon coming right up!!

Teddy - you are totally missing out! I highly recommend a marathon :)

Yes, they are the ultimate vamp/human couple of all time. I agree with joss Whedon, Angelus would kick Edward's butt!

I have just started viewing Buffy. I am liking the show.

I agree, this one genre type area that reading reviews first is helpful in picking out the next vampire read.

I look forward to this week!

Michelle, I am sure you will not be disappointed w/ this theme. Teddyree has lots hidden behind her fangs ; ).

Alaine, thrilled you like the clip :). you need to be hanging out during their Buffy marathon!

Blodeuedd, I did enjoy Buffy w/ Spike but that one gr8 love for Buffy was Angel & Dru was Spike's. That said... James added some sizzle to the show after Angel was given his spin off.

Kate,I am so glad you liked the debut post. Annie ~ Princess of the Past is a sweetheart!

All of the Royals are dolls!

Dottie, I so loved the Scooby gang & the Vampy men ; ). As for Buffy, Sarah Michelle is still one of my all time fave actresses.

Memo to Joss: Reunion!

You are welcome,Teddyree for the clip. So, Buffy virgins... it's time to "do it" -- have a Buffy marathon!

Juju, Buffy is one of my absolute favorite shows. Infact, when I met my honey-- he knew nothing was scheduled during Buffy. If we went out, Juju, we had to be home before it started. i told him up front Buffy is a deal breaker -- it didn't matter if I was recording Buffy or not -- live was the best... or else ;)!

I am thrilled you enjoyed the clip & enjoy your marathon.

I am adding my Buffy clips @ my blog to compliment Vampire Week!

Yes, the video is outstanding! Kudos & thanks to BuffyAngel4219 for the awesome video!

Annie, you will become hooked from the beginning & enjoy your summer marathon w/ Sheree : ).

Patti, hope you enjoy this week! I didn't like the movie as much as the series -- the movie was good but the series is a stellar stand out!

My, gal, Ella, thanks for stopping by :). I know you will love this week & I hope there will be another Vampire Theme week planned next year :). Fun!

Razlovers,
Here's to you enjoying all the fun this week.

dorolerium,
Yes, they never really "ended" but... David was given a spin off due to the huge popularity of the character & actor! I loved Angel, too, but...
Let me just say, dorolerium, that both series could of gone on a lot longer w/o "jumping the shark" boy, I was pulling a Glory tantrum when it ended.

The Book Resort said...

Jenny Girl, LMAO! Joss hit the nail!

ibeeeg, I hope you become addicted to Buffy & all things in the Sunnydale -- just becareful of the Hellmouth!

I agree w/ you & Annie -- reading reviews is crucial!
