The beautiful thing about comedy is that it is so personal. What makes me laugh out loud is not necessarily going to do the same thing to you. That's why there are so many different types of comedy. When you take into consideration how visual most comedy is, it's a very successful author who can manage to translate that to the page.

I think I am a bit of everything, I enjoy the Simpsons and South park, I like Friends. I do love chick-flicks like Bridget Jones. Bring on the comedy

I like character comedy like Black Adder
I am a big fan of black comedy and character comedy. Also love verbal witticisms (one of the reasons I'm such an Austen fan).
Sketch comedy always gets me rolling on the floor laughing. I like other comedy but this kind is the best with character comedy next.
