Book Blurb: Since Louisiana cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse has so few living relatives, she hates to lose one- even her cousin Hadley, undead consort of the vampire Queen of Louisiana. Hadley's left everything she has to Sookie, but claiming that inheritance has a high risk factor. Some people don't want her looking too deeply into Hadley's past, or Hadleys' possessions. And they're prepared to do anything in their power to stop her. Whoever it is, they're definitely dangerous-and Sookie's life is definitely on the line....
Review: The 6th book in the Sookie Stackhouse novels reveals a few things that I was starting to wonder about. Such as, why Sookie is Telepathic and why all the supernatural beings are attracted to her. It also explains how Sookie became involved with the vampires in the first place which would make Sookie's relationship with Bill 'Definitely Dead' or is it?
Sookie’s love life appears to be looking up when Quinn, the were tiger that she met at the Shreveport pack masters competition (Dead as a Doornail) takes her out on a date. Unfortunately whilst they are on their date they are attacked by a couple of werewolves. This, plus the dead body that Sookie finds hidden in her yard, leads Sookie to believe that someone doesn’t want her going to New Orleans. When in New Orleans Sookie becomes good friends with Amelia the Witch.
There is a very violent scene towards the end of the book, which is almost a trademark of the Sookie novels, however, this one was particularly graphic. I find it bizarre that I usually hate books that have any violence in them but in these books it doesn't bother me at all. I am completely addicted to Sookie!
