He's a High-Octane Special Ops Pro

When Special Forces Captain Landon Donovan is pulled from an op in Afghanistan, he is surprised to discover he's been hand-picked for a special assignment with the Department of Covert Operations (DCO), a secret division he's never heard of. Terrorists are kidnapping biologists and he and his partner have to stop them. But his new partner is a beautiful, sexy woman who looks like she couldn't hurt a fly—never mind take down a terrorist.

She's Not Your Average Covert Operative

Ivy Halliwell is no kitten. She's a feline shifter, and more dangerous than she looks. She's worked with a string of hotheaded military guys who've underestimated her special skills in the past. But when she's partnered with special agent Donovan, a man sexy enough to make any girl purr, things begin to heat up…

When Landon Donovan is pulled out of an important military mission and dropped in DC, he has no idea that he will be working for the Department of Covert Affairs trying to stop a terrorist who is kidnapping biologists.

Ivy Halliwell is not your ordinary agent; she’s a feline shifter who has her fill of being partnered with ex-military men who would rather see her dead than work with her. Although she’s in for a pleasant surprise when her sexy partner accepts her feline side.

Ivy, a feline shifter, and Landon, Special Forces, have been assigned as DCO (Department of Covert Operations) partners. She’s a bit more than skeptical of Landon considering that she has had problems with ex-military types due to her being a shifter. Although Landon is different, once he realizes that she is a shifter he sees her shifting abilities as an asset.

Ivy and Landon have amazing chemistry from the start and it only grows as the plot progresses and they are sent on much more dangerous missions. Although they are hesitant at first due to their job having a no dating policy, they still find they cannot pull themselves apart.

Landon was a refreshing hero. He wasn't arrogant and in your face. He was a nice change for this type of character.
The action and adventure part of plot was superb. Occasionally, when reading military romances, I find my eyes glazing over when the military aspect of the book comes in, but Paige Tyler knows how to involve the reader in the plot making it impossible to put the book down until the last page is read.

With this being the start of new series, I was a bit worried that there would be an info dump where every bit of backstory and explanation was crammed in, however, Her Perfect Mate was not like that. Paige Tyler created the character’s backstories and the world of her novel without making me feel as though I were being overloaded with facts and needless information.

While the novel started off a bit slow it picked up and held my attention throughout.
Overall, this was a hot, exhilarating romance abounding with action and adventure.
