Description (from NetGalley:

Can love save a cursed woman from the demons who've enslaved her?
When navy SEAL commander Dale Curtis encounters the mysterious Keira Solomon, he doesn't remember her—but his body does. Her presence brings up half-hidden memories of torture at the hands of demons. But her scent calls up desires that can only be described as magickal. Neither Dale's abilities as a Primary Elemental Mage, nor his access to military intel, can help him to untangle the dark secret of Keira's identity.
Beautiful, innocent shape-shifter Keira knows that Dale is the one man strong enough to conquer the demons that have enslaved her. But he can only help her if her powers are great enough to heal the scars that haunt him. Together, they can combat the dark forces that threaten humans and paranormals alike—if Dale can learn to trust Keira…and his heart.

I haven't had the opportunity to read the first book in this series, where Dale is so badly tortured and then saved, but I bet it was a doozy.
There was a little bit of everything in this awesome Nocturne novel, and it all added up to a fantastic read. I really liked Keira and what she's made of her life, being forced to torture people so their souls can be stolen and demons take over the bodies. She didn't do it to herself, sell her soul for a chance to live or anything, so you really have to feel for the little girl who grew into her powers at the hands of demons.
Dale - man, that poor guy got allllll screwed up. Thankfully, Keira found a way to at least temporarily escape from her demons, and wanted to make amends to Dale as best she could before he figured out/discovered who and what she was in relation to the demons who'd tortured him.
These two souls really needed healing and that was something that they only could get from one another. Though they don't realize it until the end, their paths crossed once before, so without falling into the "fated mate" trap that so many paranormal authors fall into (I've done it too in a way), she made it seem like these two really were destined to be there for one another.
There were some interesting secondary characters, including ones that were the hero/heroine from the prior book in the series, and certainly a really gross meal served to Dale and Keira when demons come hunting them. You just have to read this book for a great time with a man and woman who deserve the happy ending they come to.
So - 4.5 crowns for Dale and Keira's story, and thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read this book!
