I Will Come For You...

He will find her no matter what. As a blue-blooded captain of the Nighthawk Guard, his senses are keener than most. Some think he's indestructible. But once he finds the elusive Mercury, what will he do with her?

It's his duty to turn her in—she's a notorious spy and traitor. But after one stolen moment, he can't forget the feel of her in his arms, the taste of her, or the sharp sting of betrayal as she slipped off into the night. Little does Mercury know, no one hunts better than the Nighthawk. And his greatest revenge will be to leave her begging for his touch…

My thoughts:

While I liked the previous book in this series, I wasn’t overly fond of them. However, My Lady Quicksilver has to be one of my top books of 2013.

Sir Jasper Lynch has been ordered to find Mercury, the elusive revolutionary leader of the humanist cause. Mercury is searching for her brother who disappeared during the Echelon bombing. When she discovers that Lynch is investigating the bombing, Mercury decides to go undercover as Lynch’s secretary to discover what he knows.

I’m still a newbie to the world of steampunk, this perhaps is the fifth or sixth book in that genre that I have read, so occasionally some of the elements still strike me as odd. It takes a little longer for me to wrap my head around the logistics of the things found in these types of books. Yet with that being said, this is a steampunk/vampire romance and the paranormal aspect was amazing.

And the romance…wow! The chemistry between Lynch and Rosalind (Mercury) was just amazing. It’s always intriguing when there is an enemies to lovers aspect to the romance and that was definitely the case in this book.
