When he rescues Artemis Greaves and her cousin, the fiery young woman discovers his secret and threatens to expose Maximus unless he uses his influence to free her imprisoned brother. But blackmailing a powerful duke isn’t without risks. Now that she has the tiger by the tail, can she withstand his ire—or the temptation of his embrace?

Anne Barton—ONCE SHE WAS TEMPTED
“Finish this sentence: My heroes will always…”
Anne Barton:
…love the heroine when she is her truest self.
In desperate need of money for her sick mother, Daphne Honeycote had posed for two scandalous portraits. Now she must hide her secret to save the Honeycote family name. Benjamin Elliot recognizes the stunning beauty from the beauty the instant he meets her. His possession of the painting makes him an insufferable thorn in her side—and yet he may be her best chance at finding the canvas's companion. As she becomes drawn to the dark-tempered earl, can Daphne risk laying bare the secrets of her heart?October 29, 2013; Forever/Mass Market; $8.00; 978-1-4555-1330-7
Bio: Anne Barton began swiping romance novels off her mom's bookshelf as a teenager, so when she had the chance to spend a semester in London-home to her favorite heroes-she packed her bags and promptly fell in love with the city, its history, and its pubs. She dreamed of writing romance, but somehow ended up a software analyst instead.
Fortunately, a few years and a few careers later, Anne found her way back to writing the stories she loves and in 2011 won the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart® for Regency Historical Romance. She lives in Maryland with her husband (who, sadly, is not a peer of the realm-but a great guy nonetheless) and her three children, who try valiantly not to roll their eyes whenever she quotes Jane Austen. Her weaknesses include reality TV, cute-but-impractical shoes, and caffeinated beverages of all kinds.

I love reading romance stories and I like a hero when he has a sense of humour, is protective of the woman he loves, it's also an added bonus if he is dark and sexy!
Thank you for this great giveaway!

I'll finish the sentence the authors did. My hero will always treat the woman he loves with care and attentiveness. He will not command, but suggest. He will not demand, but ask. He will not fume and brood silently, but will talk and share with the woman he loves. He will be fair and not unreasonable. He will be romantic and loving. jdh2690@gmail.com
I like my heros to be kind, intelligent, confidant, successful in their chosen field, tall, physically fit and has a sense of humor.

A romantic hero has to be perty with perty eyes. ;)

My hero would have strength, honor and integrity. He would also be conscientious of his loved ones feelings, and most of all, he would stand up for what he believes in. He would never stand by and see someone treated badly, and would do all in his power to put right any wrongs that have been done. He would also be tall, dark and handsome with a sense of humor, and gorgeous eyes that have a special smile just for me.

I love historical romance and my favorite hero is the one who isn't perfect but does has honor and integrity. When he loves someone he loves them irregardless of their faults and weaknesses and is able to see what really makes them who they are. I must admit that one of my favorites reasons for loving a "hero" is one that's a reformed rake that puts the needs of the one he loves before his own desires and one of his best characteristics is his love and devotion to his family and friends.
like intelligence

Sorry - I forgot to leave my email on comment above - jeannemiro(at)yahoo(dot)com!
My hero will always treat his love like a partner. He may not be perfect but he is able to admit it when he is wrong -- without waiting for being on the verge of losing everything. He's made mistakes in the past, who's hasn't? But he has learned from and., if necessary atoned for them. He will never ever consider breaking his marriage vows no matter how he may be tempted by others.. Of course, he is such a fine specimen of manhood that there are many who want to tempt him. :-)
I like a hero who is a bit of a bad boy, always ready with a witty quip, but who hides deep feelings under all that humor, and who is a deep down good man who will do the right thing, no matter how much he tries to hide his true nature

I tend to love reformed rakes in historical romance. I especially like them when they turn out to be kind, strong, and intelligent.

What I love in a romance hero is that they had better be intelligent, successful/good at what they do, can be cold but knows how to be sweet to the heroine, and sexy?

Strength and sensitivity.

I read a lot of romances with a variety of heroes(alpha, beta, etc.) I enjoy the different looks, personalities, and life experiences, but basically a good romance hero should have strength of character with absolute devotion to his wife and children.
