Darius by Grace Burrowes & Giveaway

Darius Darius Lindsay can’t escape himself…

With his beloved sister tainted by scandal, his widowed brother shattered by grief, and his evil father cutting off his funds, Darius see no option but to sell himself—body and soul.

The aging Lord William Longstreet offers Darius a devils bargain in the form of his beautiful young wife. If Darius gives Lord William what he needs—an heir—Darius may have a chance to get free of his debts and, more importantly, his devastating degradations.

Now if only Darius knew what to do with lovely, beguiling, gentle Lady Vivian, whose tenderness and understanding wrap his soul in a grace he never expected, and knows he doesn’t deserve… (from the back of the arc)

My Thoughts:

Darius Lindsey is desperately in need of money. Lord William Longstreet is desperately in need of an heir to save his title and estate from falling into the hands of the Crown. Thus Longstreet comes up with the plan to pay Darius handsomely to impregnate is wife. While the offer sounds insane, Lady Vivian is desperate for a child of her own and agrees. Neither Darius nor Vivian takes into consideration that more than a child could result from this crazy scheme.

Grace Burrowes takes taboo topics that are not often seen in romance novels and weaves them into some of the most beautifully written romances that I have ever read.

When it was announced that Grace Burrowes was releasing a new series entitled ‘Lonely Lords’, I was over the moon. I had loved the tortured heroes and plagued heroines that she had conjured up in the Windham Series and was eager to see if the Lonely Lords were equally enthralling. And having finished Darius, I must concluded that they are.

Opening the series with Darius was brilliant. The plot was unlike any romance novel that I have previously read and yet the romance arc was both realistic and believable. You could not help but feel for the characters as they muddle through this very challenging situation. Not only were the main characters interesting and complex, the secondary characters were just as compelling.

Confession Time: I had a hard time finding an uninterrupted moment when I first picked up Darius. It seemed like every time I picked up the book the doorbell chimed or the phone rang. Desperately wanting to read the book, I shut the door (I really need to invest in a ‘do not disturb’ sign), turned off my phone, put on Scarlatti, made me a pot of Darjeeling tea, and ended up reading Darius in one blissful setting.

Have you had moments like these? How do you carve out uninterrupted reading time?

Oh my gosh, what an awesome giveaway! I am crossing my fingers twice in hopes I win :).

Okay, to your question: I have become somewhat of an expert, in my opinion, in finding time to read. Now I don't know if I would say the time is necessarily uninterrupted, but with my busy schedule (and what I assume is yours as well) sometimes you just have to make due with what you have!

I tend to read while doing just about everything! I read now while cooking, while my husband and son are watching tv, while waiting to pick up my son from school...any little time I can get! I also read on my lunch break and before going to bed...I admit I sometimes read during work as well, when things are slow.

Here's to finding enough time to read!

What a great giveaway!! I make time every night to read. I should go to bed earlier, but that is my reading time. Every night, after I watch the news and weather, I turn the satellite to the music channel and read till 12:30- 1:00 am. That's my time to read. I also try to read when I'm cooking.

I bought The Soldier, her debut novel but I have no actually started reading it yet. From a quick glance, I know it is good so looking forward to starting.

There are so many distractions that are preventing me from reading such as watching tv and reading blogs. My simple way is to set aside one night a week to concentrate on reading books only but sometimes it does not work.

I read whenever I have time. I listen to books while doing housework and when I'm on the computer.
