Hunk for the Holidays by Katie Lane

hfh Always putting business before pleasure, Cassie McPherson works hard for her family’s construction business. That might explain why she doesn’t have a date for the company Christmas party. But it doesn’t quite explain why she’s crazy enough to hire an escort for the event or—crazier still—why she’s dying to unwrap him like a present…

With whiskey-colored eyes and a killer smile, James is one gorgeous hunk who really knows how to fill out a tuxedo. He charms everyone—including Cassie. And when the night ends, the party doesn’t stop. As Cassie falls, literally, into his bed, James falls head over feels in love. Now he has to figure out a way to tell her the truth: he’s not an escort. He’s her family’s fiercest business rival. But all he wants for Christmas is her… (from the back of the book)

Book Details:

Title: Hunk for the Holidays, Author: Katie Lane, ISBN: 978-1-4555-2236-1, Publisher: Forever Romance, Format: Mass-Market paperback, $7.99/$8.99 CAN. How I read it: Mass-Market Paperback from publisher, Rating: 4.5 Crowns

My Thoughts:

Business rival mistaken for escort. Business rival develops feelings for the woman who believes him to be escort. Woman starts feelings things for faux escort. Secret revealed. Big storm in the air. Christmas tree set on fire. Requisite moping. Side romance between two secondary characters adds extra excitement.

Everything about this book screams “READ ME”. Plus, oddly enough, the plot is very similar to a situation that happened with in my own family (my cousin, whose father owns a major construction company, married the daughter of their biggest competitor. I gave both of them a copy of this book and they had a laugh at the similarity).

I loved every character in the book, which is odd because normally every book has that smack-worthy character. A very quick read, filled with humor and a sweet little romance that creeps in and almost steals the plot from the main characters.

This is definitely one book that should be in your holiday survival pack.

This is my first venture into the writings of Katie Lane and it will not be my last.
