Wolfishly Yours by Lydia Dare review & Giveaway

wy IT TAKES A BEAST…

Grayson Hadley is in his own special hell—being treated like a wayward pup by the tutor employed to turn him into a true gentleman. So when he meets a hot-blooded America beauty with the mark of a Lycan, he’s only too glad to slip his leash.

TO BRING THIS LADY TO HEEL

Accustomed to running wild in the swamps of Louisiana, Miss Liviana Mayeux is shipped off to her grandfather’s in London to learn a thing or two about polite society. At first she scoffs at the English Lycans’ apparent tameness. Little does Livi realize how very close she is to unleashing the passion that lies just beneath the surface… (from the back of the arc)

My Thoughts:

Okay, so every time a Lydia Dare book arrives in the post I do a little happy dance and immediately set to devouring the book.

Grayson Hadley is a bit wild and most definitely the kind of man you do not take home to mother (or in the case of Livi, her grandfather) and a Lycan.

Liviana Mayeux is a free-spirited, strong-willed, American whose father has sent her to England to learn her place in polite society.

Having been raised around Lycans Liviana immediately recognizes Grayson for what he is. While the whole of proper society think him wild and unruly, Livi believes him to be one of the tamest Lycans she has ever laid eyes on although Grayson is about to show her just how wild he can be.

Having been introduced to Grayson Hadley in the previous novels, I knew that wherever he and his brothers went trouble followed. And while troubles still found Grayson in this novel, I felt that they were more bumps in the road rather than massive boulders I have grown to associate with the Hadley clan.

The introduction of an American heroine from the Louisiana bayou was a nice touch. I like the different air that her character held, she was feisty, determined, swore like a drunken sailor, and completely her own person. What I did not like was the fact that she knew Grayson was a Lycan from the start. I felt that her knowing about his ability to shift into a wolf during the full moon took a bit of the suspense from the novel.

Overall: I liked the book but I did not love the book. I felt that there wasn’t much going on in it and while there was a certain something between Grayson and Livi it wasn’t as powerful or prominent as the previous books in the series. Lastly, I felt that the paranormal aspect of the book was bit lacking as there was talk of wolves yet not much turning into wolves.

What I loved about the book was the introduction of a new brood of Lycans in the form of Livi’s brothers. I also liked the interaction between Miss Sophie, who is educating the Hadley brothers on the ways of gentlemen, and Archer Hadley who does not want to be educated at all.

I must also add that I cannot wait for the next installment in this series!

This is the 6th book in the Westfield Wolves series although it can be read as a standalone.

Lydia is a new Author to me, so I would love a chance to win and read her book, "Wolfishly Yours". It's not normally the genre that I read, but I'm always open to trying something new.

Thank you for this opportunity.
