Lady Louisa’s Christmas Knight by Grace Burrowes & A Giveaway

louisa_204w

TIS THE SEASON FOR SCANDAL…

Years ago Lady Louisa Windham acted rashly on a dare from her brother, and that indiscretion is about to come to light. Just as she’s nearly overwhelmed by her dilemma, Sir Joseph Carrington offers himself to her as a solution…

But Sir Joseph has secrets as well, and as he and Louisa become entangled with each other, their deceptions begin to close in on them both…

My Thoughts:

In this installment of the goings on of the Windham brood, we meet Lady Louisa and Sir Joseph Carrington.

Both Louisa and Joseph are very different from your normal romance novel couple. Both are strong-willed, forthright, and independent, which are qualities that you do not often find in romance novels and I found it to be refreshing. Neither fit into the social standard of the time and both are carrying around secrets that they feel could destroy them should they come to light.

There were no overblown dramas or unbelievable events or fits of frenzy. It was simply a sweet little story of a rather normal couple laced with two charming little girls, a duel, and of course the Windham brood.

Another brilliant novel by the lovely and talented Grace Burrowes.

I am completely hooked on the unfolding drama of the Windham family and this newest installment, Lady Louisa’s Christmas Knight, deepened my addiction. I will admit it, when this series comes to an end I am going to a bit sad—okay, I am going to be exceedingly sad.

Series Alert:

Book number: 6 in the Windham series, 3 in the Duke’s Daughters subseries

Can it be read on its own? Yes. It can be read as a standalone novel without any confusion although trust me you will want to read the series.

Wow, what a fantastic and generous giveaway. This would make a wonderful Christmas gift for my darling sister.

I, personally, love Grace's books. Her stories are always so refreshing, detailed and keep me up most of the night.

I'm really sorry about your teashop closing too. We don't have any near us, and being from England, I sorely miss them.

Thank you again for such an awesome opportunity.

The books would be a most welcome addition to my 'library' & I do enjoy a cup of tea.

It's sad when businesses close down, especially when they are favorites.

When I read "The Heir", I was a little skeptical of all the hoopla it was receiving. Gee, was I ever wrong. I could not put it down! Just her prose style sends me back 200years. I love the way her characters speak without the use of contractions. Ms. Burrowes has done her literary homework. I have since gotten all her other books from the library and read nearly all--except "Lady Louisa...". Please enter me in the contest. I would dearly love to own the whole set as well as the lovely tea things!

Thank you so much!

I feel so lucky to have "found" Grace when her first book was published. I have loaned my copies out, read them time and time again and it would be really nice to have nice, fresh copies for my keeper shelf.

Grace is not just an author that you read and forget. Her books are fast on the way to being right up there with those that go on into history. Generations to come will read them and think they are as wonderful as I do. If you haven't read her books, believe me you are missing out on a milestone in history.

This is a wonderful prize. I have read and very much enjoyed some of Grace's books. In fact, I am currently reading Lady Louisa's Christmas Night but if I were lucky enough to win, that would give me a chance to pass on to others any that I may have. 'Tis the season and giving away books is such a wonderful thing!

Grace Burrowes' books are an absolute delight! It is refreshing to have Regency Era books that focus on the actual lives of the characters. Any ball attendance is incidental to character and plot development. Her prose is exquisite and makes me keep turning the pages faster and faster to finish the story - then I have to reread the book to pick up the nuances. I have recommended her to my sisters and all who ask my opinion.

I, too, regret the closing of your local tea shop. During this difficult economic time period so many worthwhile businesses are closing.
