Mary Wine Interview & Giveaway

I would like to welcome the lovely Mary Wine to Royal Reviews!

Tell us something about yourself, so that we can get to know you a bit better

I spend all day in my fantasy world and take orders from a parrot. Oh…Mary wine bookmaybe that’s not quite the right way to put it. I am a full time writer who  devotes the better part of each day to my work in progress while my parrot keeps a watchful eye on me to make sure I don’t sneak off to Facebook. LOL. Actually, I am one of the luckiest people alive. I am able to write my books and there are even some folks who like to read them. Which of course only sends me back to the keyboard to write a new one. It is truly amazing to hear from a reader, it makes my day, my week. And the parrot? Well, she does watch me while I type and is always ready to give me a cuddle when life is using its claws on me. She’s such a trooper. Her name is Ginger and she is an umbrella cockatoo.

Your historical romance, The Trouble With Highlanders, is out now—congrats! Could you tell us about it?

This is book two and follows ‘The Highlander’s Prize.’ This is set during the war of the roses and takes up with Norris following Daphne home. They spent one night together and she left. Something which haunts him. She isn’t the first woman he’s enjoyed but for some reason she’s stuck in his thoughts.

A Lady Can Never Be Too Curious—out now—was the first installment in your new steampunk series! What inspired you to write it?

ALCNBTS I’m a science fiction fan and a historical costumer. Steam Punk is the perfect blending of these two interests. I really enjoyed creating my Steam Punk community inside the strict guidelines of the Victorian world. But those Victorians did love their Secret Orders. Be very sure, it’s still a great historical romance. After all, that’s my main writing style. I hope my fans will give it a try.

Which is more entertaining to write about, hunky Highlanders or alluring Illuminist?

Both! Romance is my game. That isn’t limited to any gene, time period or planet!

What can readers expect next?

I have some exciting news and you’re the first to hear it. My wonderful editor at Sourcebooks has bought two erotic romances from my naughty inner child ‘Dawn Ryder’. One will likely be ménage.

For those who enjoyed ‘A Lady Can Never be too Curious’, the second book will release in May. It’s called ‘A Captain Can Never be too Bold.’

Winter of 2013 will see the release of ‘Dream Shadow’, my first book. You can get all the details at MaryWine.com

At this moment, I am writing the book which will follow ‘The Trouble with Highlanders’. I think it’s going to be a fall release in 2013.

Thanks so much for having me by. Come check me out on FaceBook!

How clever to be able to write in a number of genres. I do note the thread of romance throughout though. Got to love that.

Fabulous giveaway thank you!!

You sound like you're in a wonderful place in your life, and even taking orders from parrots. Pretty cool! I like the sound of all your books from your historical romances (I need to read more stories set in the war of the roses era) and steampunk. I'm glad to learn a bit more about you and your books in this interview.

Double WOW - what a great packet of books - I love stories about Highlanders, but haven't read Mary's books yet. I'm working my way thru Monica McCarty's Highlander books, but am almost finished - so I'll need some more (wink/hint).
