Shana Galen Interview & Giveaway

I would like to welcome the lovely and talented Shana Galen to Royal Reviews!

shana

1. Tell us something about yourself, so that we can get to know you a bit better…
SG: I’m a mom. I say that because my daughter is almost three, and being a mom is a huge part of my life right now. No one told me how demanding toddlers are!

2. Your historical romance, When You Give a Duke a Diamond, is out now—congrats! Could you tell us about it?
SG: Thank you. When You Give a Duke a Diamond is the first in a new series titled the Jewels of the Ton. It’s about three courtesans who are called The Three Diamonds. They’re notorious and sought after by every gentleman. Juliette is the heroine of When You Give a Duke a Diamond, and she’s known as the Duchess of Dalliance. Every man wants her, except one: the Duke of Pelham. But when Pelham’s fiancĂ©e is murdered and Juliette is a witness, the two of them are thrown together.

3. Introduce us to the Three Diamonds.
SG: As I said above, Juliette is the Duchess of Dalliance. She’s beautiful—tall, willowy, blond, with light blue eyes. She’s perceived as being quite cold and aloof, but she’s actually fun and spontaneous. Fallon is the Marchioness of Mystery. She’s dark and enigmatic. There’s always a lot of speculation and rumor surrounding Fallon. Finally, Lily is the Countess of Charm. She’s a red-head and very sweet, but she has secrets of her own.

4. What prompted you to write this series?
SG: I wanted to write something that took place in London, among the balls and routs and Society gatherings. And I wanted to write about people who weren’t upper class but who moved in that world. My courtesans were a perfect choice.

5. So far there have been pirates, spies, and now courtesans, was one easier to write than the others were?
SG: I seem to always come back to spies. I just love spies. You can expect to see spies later in the series.

6. Can you tell us about True Spies?
SG: Of course. I’m doing the final revisions for True Spies, which is the follow-up to Lord and Lady Spy. It continues the story of Adrian and Sophia and introduces two new characters, Winn and Elinor. Don’t put the title on your reading list yet. My editor may change it.

7. What can readers expect next?
SG: Next is If You Give a Rake a Ruby, which is Fallon’s book. It’s a bit darker than Juliette’s book, and I think readers are really going to like it.

Until She Came Along
