THE PLEASING AND PROPER DARCY FAMILY VISITS THE LAND OF THE PHARAOHS.

Pulled into the craze of Egyptology, the Darcys and their lively children embark on an expedition to find a hidden tomb and uncover its treasure. Not only are immeasurable riches awaiting them in the exotic land of the Sphinx, but also danger and betrayal and the chances to lay an ancient grudge to rest…

Amanda Grange, bestselling author of Mr. Darcy’s Diary and Mr. Darcy, Vampyre, teams up with Egyptologist Jacqueline Webb to create a breathtaking historical tale. The Darcys’ adventures at the hands of these talented storytellers open up whole new realms of exploration for lovers of Jane Austen and the Regency World.  (from the back of the arc)

My Thoughts:

I have read a many adaptations, spin-offs, and sequels of Pride and Prejudice with subjects ranging from zombies to the American Civil War and just about every avenue in between. However, Egyptology has been a subject that has never been broached until now. I had found it odd that no one had placed these characters into an Egyptology-based novel considering that it was all the rage in Regency England.

Pride & Pyramids is set 15 years after Pride & Prejudice and introduces us to Elizabeth and Darcy’s 6 children as well as a several other new characters, which fit perfectly with the characters that Austen created. Filled with action, adventure, romance, treasure, and a hint of the paranormal I would describe this as Pride & Prejudice meets Indiana Jones.

Fans of Amanda Grange will not be disappointed. I highly recommend that you give this novel a go.

Egyptology fits in well with the time period. What is your favorite P&P spin-off? I love Pamela Aitkin's (I think that's her name) books.
