Loneliness will take a man places…
Jesse Garahan has plenty of Irish charm, but having his heart demolished twice, he’s sworn off women forever. Until the fateful day he meets Danielle Brockway and her tiny daughter Lacy on their way to their new home in Pleasure, Texas.
But there may be places he doesn’t want to go…
Fiercely protective of her little girl, Danielle isn’t about to let Jesse get anywhere close enough to hurt either of them, no matter how much longing she sees in his eyes… (from the back of the arc)
My Thoughts:
Jesse was my first introduction to the Garahan brothers and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it!
When Jesse Garahan pulls over to help a woman whose car is broken-down on the side of the road he is prepared to give her a tongue-lashing for trying to remove the radiator cap from her overheated car. However, he is unprepared for the little cowgirl dressed in pink that steals his heart. He is even more shocked at they attraction he feels for the little girls mother, Danielle.
Danielle Brockway has been hurt before and she is not about to let her daughter to be hurt again. Although there is no denying the attraction, she feels for Jesse and seeing how he has promised to give her daughter horse riding lessons the two are thrown together.
Just when Danielle allows Jesse close she discovers that Jesse is hiding something that he does not want to reveal to her.
Normally, I am not easily drawn into cowboy type books but I had been hearing how amazing The Secret Life of Cowboys series by C.H. Admirand was so when Sourcebooks offered Jesse as a review choice I knew I had to give it ago. I must say that I loved it. There is something quite appealing about Irish-American cowboy.
I read devoured this book in thirty minutes and then decided to read it again. Not only is it an amazing contemporary romance it is a family drama type as well which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Jesse is a standalone novel, although after falling in love with the book I knew that I had to purchase Tyler and Dylan so be warned if you read one you will want to read all three.
Want a chance to win one of the two copies of Jesse that I am giving away…if so check out my interview with the lovely and talented C.H. Admirand HERE
