Wicked Little Game by Christine Wells

Genre: Historical Romance

Rating 5 Crowns

For years, the Marquis of Vane has hungered for Lady Sarah from afar, watching the beauty brave a cruel marriage. When Sarah's wastrel husband makes Vane a shocking proposal – one night with Sarah for 10,000 pounds – the temptation is almost too great. Tricked by her husband into fulfilling his wicked bargain, Sarah can't refuse a night of exquisite pleasure with the devastating man who haunts her dreams. But neither she nor Vane imagined their passionate encounter would set the stage for murder, or that a deadly twist of fate could spell a love to last all time...

Sold! When I read that blurb, I knew I just had to read this book and I ordered it straight away. I loved the concept, I loved the intrigue and I loved knowing the characters were going to be put through the ringer before they got their happily ever after (Okay so that last part may make me a little bit twisted...)

I am so happy to say that this book was fantastic from start to finish. The action literally did not let up and kept me guessing the whole way. I mean, you know it'll all work out but how??? This plot packs a punch (kinda like our hero Vane *sigh*) and is certain to remain one of my favourite regency romances for a long time!

Now my favourite part - Vane - the hero. I was so in love with him! From the boxing to the bathing he was hot stuff! He was such a powerful man but he was completely undone when it came to Sarah. He would've sacrificed everything for her happiness and welfare but thankfully Christine doesn't make him go quite that far to prove his love ;-) Loyal and honourable, Vane is everything I look for in a romance hero. Sarah may have taken a little longer to come to the Vane-party but I can forgive her with everything else she had to overcome!

If you're a fan of Regency Historicals then I highly recommend Wicked Little Game. It's hot, sexy and action-packed. You won't be disappointed!

I've seen this one a couple of times, but haven't picked it up. But after your review and seeing that trailer, I am so picking it up! I am excited now!

Thanks Samantha. The trailer is very enticing isn't it? I read in an interview that Christine's original inspiration was the movie Indecent Proposal - isn't that cool?

Altough it may have been inspiration the characters of the book certainly take this novel in an original direction.

Yet again...another book for my TBR pile.
The concept of this book is different and that alone intrigues me.
