Psst!! Emily Bryan Is On Her Way

Fussy, Happy Endings ... dust the cobwebs, polish the silver, shoo the mice; I promised Emily Bryan royal accomodations and I'm sure her entourage includes a Duchess and a Viscount. The jacuzzi is out of order & the koalas are on holidays but I'm sure we can round up a kangaroo guard of honour & raise a glass of Chardy for a virtual toast to Emily Bryan.

Join us as we spend this week with historical romance author Emily Bryan aka Diana Groe, all-round nice person and royal guinea pig. We have had some wonderful theme weeks here at Royal Reviews and this week I'm very excited to be hosting our very first author week. Em is such a good sport I'm sure she won't take offence to the guinea pig reference.

So what's in store? I'm sure there will be a laugh or two, an interview, some book reviews and if you're not familiar with Emily Bryan's writing, you are in for a treat and if you are, (familiar that is) join the fun & show some love. Make Emily feel welcome (through comments) and each day you can throw your hat in the ring to win one of Emily Bryan's wonderful novels.

Here's a little teaser of things to come:

"In the banquet of love, a kiss is the appetizer." - the journal of Blanche La Tour - Vexing the Viscount

"The next time I decide to kill a man, Jacquelyn thought, I really need to get better help." - Pleasuring the Pirate

"I'm going to have to shorten his willie." - Distracting the Duchess

You can find out more about Emily Bryan on her website or visit her very amusing & informative blog ... but join us here each day this week, Emily is very generously giving away one of her books to a lucky commenter every day.

Well, I've got a short stop over here in Maui, Teddy, but I'm heading your way!

Round up a hunky massage therapist who'll talk to me with that wonderful Aussie accent, and I'll forgive you for letting the jacuzzi go on the fritz!

Hey Caffey! Thanks for stopping by. We've got some good excerpts and fun posts planned. Please let your friends know. It'd be a shame to let all these shrimps and Chardonay go to waste!

Hi Alaine! My next release is my novella in A CHRISTMAS BALL with USA Today bestseller Jennifer Ashley and Alissa Johnson. All our characters are attending the same Christmas Ball and YOU are invited too. It's available for pre-order on Amazon and will hit the store shelves on September 29th.

I look forward to the Emily Bryan week. I look forward seeing what you guys have planned.

I have yet to read an Emily Bryan book. Just looked at the different titles on Amazon and decided that I am going to read one very soon. As soon as I can get my hands on one and have finished the book I am currently reading. :)

Hi Emily! I'm really going to enjoy visiting this week. I followed your blog tour and loved how every post gave different tidbits about your books. I've got Distracting the Duchess and Vexing the Viscount. How important is it that I read Pleasuring the Pirate before VTV?

Etirv, Caffey, Kytaira, and everyone who's ever plunked down their hard earned cash for one of my stories-Thanks so much for buying my book. Especially now when everyone's tightening their belts. I seriously appreciate the support!

It's not necessary to read Pleasuring the Pirate first in order to enjoy Vexing the Viscount, but I think you may want to read it eventually. The two books are "related" titles, but they both stand on their own. Daisy Drake, my heroine in VEXING is the precocious 10 year old niece of my PIRATE hero in that story. Several characters from PLEASURING THE PIRATE return in VEXING THE VISCOUNT--besides Daisy, who's all grown up now, you'll see Gabriel Drake (my pirate hero), Meriwether (his salty first mate), and one of my personal favorite characters--Isabella Wren (retired courtesan and now Lady Wexford!)

Book Resort--I just visited your blog! Great site and you have a fabulous quote up there now.

"Wear the old coat. Buy the new book!"

I appreciate that on a couple levels. First, books are how we adorn our souls. We deserve new.

Plus, buying new books is the only way we can vote for what type of books we want to see published. If I buy new near the release date, I increase the likelihood that more books of that type and by that author will be coming out.

Ibeeeg (I so want to know the story behind that screen name!), Jane and Sharon--I'm so glad you came by. I love making new cyber friends! If you're on twitter or myspace or facebook, I'd love to connect with you there too! Please visit Em's Links.

What is your favorite book of all time?

My favorite "take me away" story is MM Kaye's THE FAR PAVILIONS. I reread this doorstop of a book every couple years or so.

Teddyree, Alaine and Ann--Thanks so much for having me here, ladies! I'm enjoying my royal accomodations utterly, and oh! whatever you're paying Jacob, that hunky masseur, it is not enough! The guy has great hands!
