I'm joining the ranks of over 74,000 other Good Reads reviewers and adding my 2 cents on Audrey Niffenegger's literary novel.I feel no hesitation in dubbing this book a Modern Classic. Easily one of the best books I've ever read, it is a marvel of love, time, destiny and loss. I was incredibly moved by Henry and Claire's story...it just struck a chord deep within me and judging from the global response, I don't think I'm alone.
You may already be aware that the movie version is debuting in December (Australia). I would absolutely recommend getting in to read the novel first. Sure, you might not enjoy the movie as much but you will gain a deep emotional connection to the characters that I'm not confident a film version could impart to the same degree. Hell, read it first just so you're not lost for words when all your friends are talking about the differences between them both!
Some people I've leant this to have found the time aspect too confusing and have felt in hindered their comprehension and enjoyment of the novel. I relaxed into it quite easy. I think if you begin it with the expectation that you won't really understand what's going on till a fair way in, you won't feel as frustrated. And believe me, it's absolutely worth giving Niffenegger time to let her characters unfold their lives and stories for you.
An eternal love story and another highly recommended read.

Gosh !!! I am one of the people who just hated this book :( .... Wanted to like it but just hated it ... But looking forward to see what the movie is like :)
